I was asked one day what are my top 5 iPhone apps that I cannot live without… and here they are:
1. Quran Reader by Batoul Apps ($2.99)
This is a great app for reading Quran, especially when you’re stuck in Traffic or have to endure long waits. What I like most about this app is unlike other Quran Apps it has a real image of the Quran Pages and not a basic Arabic script version. (p.s. heard this app on the iPad is even more amazing!) 2. Guidance by Batoul Apps ($2.99)
Prayer Times calculator + Qibla Direction. Every ProductiveMuslim with a mobile phone should have some form of Prayer Calculator software or Qibla Direction software installed on their phone, most platforms have some of these software. For the iPhone, Guidance is the best app for this purpose hands down. One of its killer feature is finding nearest mosque using iPhone’s GPS feature. Download Link
3. Reminders! App by Ripe Apps ($1.99)
This literally saves me from my short-term memory! As soon as I remember something that I need to remember later or when someone asks me to do something for them at a later date/time, I plug it into the Reminder app and forget about it. Reminder will notify me at the right time and force me to take action. It’s interface is so intuitive and easy to use, for example, if I put a reminder to call a person at a certain time, on the appointed time, a screen would pop up with that person’s number ready to call him/her with one touch! 4. QuickCal App by SmellyPuppy ($0.99)
Surprisingly, Apple has not been able to produce a decent calendar application for the iPhone. This is where QuickCal fills in the gap. For any event or application, You just type in the application, e.g. “Doctor appointment next week at 6pm at IMC hospital” and it automatically schedules that appointment for you on your calendar along with the time and location and sets a reminder 30 minutes before. Great app! Download Link
5. SimpleNote (free)
Ever had a great idea, but no pen or paper to write it down? Simplenote is there to save you. Although there are many Note taking applications on the iPhone, this one is truly simple! Type in your note, and it’ll automatically sync between your iPhone, your computer, and even your special simplenote microsite, so you can access your notes anywhere anytime. Download Link
