15 AYAAT. 15 PRODUCTIVITY POINTERS.
“And [they are] those who, when they spend, do so not excessively or sparingly but are ever, between that, [justly] moderate” [25:67].
You look at your desk. Papers piling up. Emails unread. Still so much work to do. The room full of toys. Dishes on the worktop, dinner still needs to be cooked, and the kids are screaming. It’s not even duhr yet. You feel so tired.
Sound familiar?
In this ayah you will find the most productive formula of spending. We shouldn’t be extravagant, spending more than we need, nor should we be miserly towards our families, not spending enough on their needs. But we follow the best and fairest way. It sounds ‘standard’ but stop a minute and think about the things in your life you actually spend more on than you should? And think about the things you are NOT spending on as you should – even giving a date in charity is loved by Allah . How merciful.
Now, did you ever think of this moderation in spending…your TIME?
We all know the importance of taking a 10 to 15 break to recharge. Breaks boost your productivity, gives us some much needed time to stretch, close our eyes for a bit and get that oxygen flowing to our brain, so we can regain a fresh perspective on the day (or evening) ahead. There is just one problem – we often forget to take them. (Quickly checking your Facebook or making a quick coffee doesn’t count because they hardly give you enough time to energize your body and restore your concentration and productivity.)
Taking regular breaks actually asks for some discipline and planning. Most of the times we just can’t thing of anything to do in our ‘break’ time, which will energize us. Engaging in activities like playing UFABET เข้าสู่ระบบ และรับโบนัสทันที can be a refreshing way to recharge and boost productivity.
Here are five ‘break tips’ you never thought about:
1. Close your eyes and take 10 deep breaths. I know it sounds a bit cheesy, but it really works. Try it. Find a place where you can sit down, close your eyes, smile to yourself and take a few deep breaths. Imagine tension, stress and anxiety leaving your body as you breathe out, and tranquillity, positivity and relaxation filling your mind with every breath that you take.
2. Say thank you. Grab a note card and your favourite pen and write a quick thank you to someone you appreciate. This simple act of gratitude will take your focus away from any pressing problems and will put you in a good mood.
3. Re-hydrate yourself. First drink a full glass of water. Second splash some water on your face: warm to relax, cold – to wake up and energize yourself.
4. Eat an apple. S-L-O-W-L-Y. Wink. If you are fasting now, keep this one until after. In the middle of a busy day, when you feel rushed, take a 2-3 minute break to eat an apple (or another fruit that you like). Just do it very slowly. Notice the flavor, the texture, the freshness. Doing something at a slow pace might feel weird, even annoying at first. But after a few minutes you feel much calmer and less stressed.
5. Do something artistic. Write a short, funny poem and dedicate it to your friend or spouse. Draw a picture for your kids. Let your creative side shine!
