  1. As-Salamu ‘Alaikum wa Rahmatullah

Jazak’allahu khayran for the inspiring article. It is motivating to learn that a wife and a mother of two can achieve so much! Alhamdulillah.

  2. Asalaamu Alaikum,

I loved this article as memorizing the Quran is something I am working towards. I have a question regarding one comment though: Hafiza Rayhaanah said that an ideal Muslimah is one who is “free of the love of leadership”, and I just can’t seem to grasp this point. Could someone explain it to me please? JazakAllahu Khairan.

    • As I understand it, love of power (through leadership) is one of the fitnas that a Muslim guards himself from. It is illustrated in Sura Kahf in the story of Zu Al Qarnain. Despite his leadership and power, he remained humble and reminded himself that it is all a bounty from Allah and He can take it all away when He wills. So, there is no harm in being in a leadership position and to recognize the skills and how to develop them but not to seek it for worldly gain.

  3. Assalamu alaikum,

    a productive tip for memorizing.

    Investigate on different memorization techniques.

My experience on memorization is that memorization is not at first place a process of having great brain storage/reminding capacity. It is more a process of regularity.

The technique now I am using for memorizing is simply having two different review circles. One for short term review (reviewing the most current memorization e.g. of the last 4 days) and one for long term review(reviewing every day a portion of your total hifzh)

I can also recommend the memorization course from SeekersGuidance.org.

    Wassalam

  4. Maasha Allah,

Until now I have only known hifz being performed by Men. It is astounding to note there are hafizaa.

So I am a girl and if your a girl also memorizing and if you can read it fluently with good makharij then please i would like a buddy. 22. Assalam-o-Alaikum. I too have long yearned to make a connection with the Holy Quran. I know it requires dedication and sincerity. Though I know that there are no shortcuts but I have managed to learn Surah Mulk very conveniently and that is through mainly listening to the recitation. I have a ayat by ayat translation copy through which I made associations of the respective verse.

I personally am very much into gadgets, cellphones and computers. Then I thought why not use these fancy inventions to aid myself, so I bought my favorite smart phone through which I can review the Holy Quran and copied the audio files into my mp3 player so that I can listen to it when I am driving and when I am going to sleep. Believe me it has worked wonderfully well for me. Format your music player and dedicate it to listening the Holy Quran. Do it repeatedly for a month and you’ll see that you start to memorize it sooner than you think.

  23. set targets.for eg,i have to learn this much juz by the end of week and always keep one or two hours of memorisation in every weekend and be consistent.Allah swt will help insha Allah

  24. Mashallah. Indeed inspiring. Am 35 a doctor by proffesion & have a deep wish to do hifz e quran. Seems like a mammoth task. Inshallah shall start real soon..do pray for me..I desperately wanna no hifz and then study hadith.

  28. Online quran tutoring is the best way to promote holy Quran education all over the world as most of our muslim brothers and sisters are unable to get quran education because they can’t find such institute near to their home as well as Quran tutors.Online tutors are the most appropriate solution for such brothers and sisters because Qualified Quran teachers are there on the internet to provide quran education at your home through online quran classes.

  29. Asalamu alaikum,

I don’t know if you still reply to the comments, but I will give it a try. I have started memorizing the Quran, like your son, in 11th grade. It is really hard for me, so I was just wondering how he was able to finish the memorizing the Quran?

  30. Wa ‘alaykumus salaam wa Rahmatullah,
    Dear aspiring haafidh,
    MashaAllah TabaarukAllah!
It would mean prioritising your daily and weekly list of schedules. I would suggest reducing extra activities and hobbies to a bare minimum. Ensure that you are eating healthy and drinking plenty of water. Rise for tahajjud daily & make dua as often as you can. Listen to plenty of audio (of Quran), as this would strengthen your audio memory of hifdh. Attend class daily, if possible. And get adequate rest nightly. Try your best, and leave the rest to Allah SWT. If you’re able to complete hifdh this year, that would be great alHumdulillah! If not, remember to remain diligent & to continue persevering, inshaAllah! Verily, Allah SWT is the best of planners.
