  3. Asalamou aleykoum wa rahmatouh Allahi wa baarakatouh,

Thank you for this great article. I will share with my friends. As a mother of two small kids that are close in age I really strive to find some time for focus and concentration. What advice could u give to mothers like me?

    Baarak Allahou fyk

    • Wa’alaikum Salam, you are very welcome. I’m happy that you enjoyed reading it. Are you referring to maintaining focus during prayer or in general?

      • Asalamou alaykoum Naima,

Baarak Allahou for taking the time to read my comment.

In meant in general not only for prayers but also to read Coran or a book related to islam. Time is running fast now a days and when kids are small they are very demanding wake up a lot at night so your brain cannot focus. It was suggest to me to do read when kids are sleeping or wake up earlier but due to lake of sleep when they sleep I am so tired that when I tried to read I cannot focus and have to read few times the same sentence to understand what it is all about.

        Oum Hassan

  6. Ma sha Allaah a very beneficial read indeed :) Having been there, i can so much relate to what you are saying here. Our heart is in a state of constant fluctuation; sometimes it is high, sometimes it is low. I find doing simple dhikr of Allah from time to time during the day helpful. Like saying Subhanallahi wa bihamdihi, or SubhanAllahi azeem is very light and heavy in scales. Second, doing Istagfaar as much as I can, has had a very serene effect on my anxious and hard heart. It calms me down and instills peace and hope in me. And yes, Staying connected to the Quran, reading it everyday, making efforts to understand the Arabic. Alhamdulillah, nothing compares to lighten your day more than this. Also, just like the cause , the change is not abrupt too, it is gradual. You will feel it, in some time, when you consistently act upon the remedies.

JazakAllah Khair for sharing this reminder :)

    • Barak Allahu Feeki for sharing your perspective on this matter. Especially the point about the change in the right direction being gradual as well resonates with me. As human beings we often expect immediate results, but we have to learn to be patient – especially when it comes to self-improvement and healing our hearts. I’m glad that you could relate to the article. :)

  17. Assalaamu’alaykum Sister Naima,
maa shaa Allah, you had written an excellent practical reminder, and it resonates a lot with how I have striven to get to be closer to the way of Allah. I remember that when I was younger I did not pay too much attention to learn much about Islam. Alhamdulillah, ever since ten years ago I started to attend a muslim ladies gatherings every week, to learn more about Qur’an and Islamic knowledge. I can feel that those gatherings are very important in increasing my eeman, as well as providing the comfort of having friends who are supportive towards each other in the same goal, which is learning more about Islam, the best way of life that Allah had provided us.
May Allah reward you and your family with His best reward, jazaakumullah khayr.

  19. Great article and I really believe reading qur’an bring so much peace in the heart. Even if it is so that you pick it up for few minutes and read and ayaat whenever you can. The qu’ran is a light. Light cannot be seen light is a means by which you see……………

  20. MashaAllah very well written.. May Allah guide you and all of us to be righteous and attain his Jannah.
One thing that I do to be always connected to Allah is seeking his help in every small things. I read hadith that u ask Allah if u want a strap in your chappal. After reading this hadith I do ask Allah for help in every day to day life. Even if it is too small remember Allah and seek his help. This has helped me to be connected with Allah.
    JazakAllahu khairan

  26. thank you for the soulful article.i am in a similar state of mind that you mentioned in the beginning of this article-withdrawn,lifeless and helpless to find peace and life in my namaz or other deeds.also,i felt like i am far away from the creator and cant go back again under the shade of his warmth and love.anyhow, happened to go through this article and i dont know what force drived me to stay patient and go through this note till the end.Alhamdulillah, now i can feel a breeze of life coming to my soul and my mind is now filled with optimism that i can find my peace and life in Allah, the almighty.I really dont know how long it last since i am a mere human.anyhow,i have strongly decided to give another try to be more live.productive and sincere in my namaz and other deeds .may Allah help me to find the meaning and soul of my life in him.its nothing but your article which give me another thought about this. Thanks alot Naima.may the almighty shower his blessings upon you to inspire people through your beautiful words.Include me too in your prayers.

  35. Wow! Masha Allah. Extremely happy to know we Muslims have a site of our own giving righteous advices, in contrast to the deviated worldly advice we get from sites elsewhere. Many a time we get isolated from the Islamic world and generally go into thinking that the whole world is against Islam. Being here, it’s quite heartwarming to know there are a lot of other minds on the same track as we are.

  36. This is a beautiful article Alhumdulilah. All I ask is that whoever reads this comment, please from the bottom of your heart, ask our Almighty Lord Allah to relieve me of the hardships I am going through, and always protect me from all harm and difficulties. And the same for my family, and everyone else. Ask we shouldn’t forget others in our prayers.

I will be very grateful if you could make dua for me as noted above, and may Allah reward you with Jannah without hisaab for this.
